Goliath Sensei started his Aikido career more than 17 years ago with Sensei Bruce Allemann in Cape Town, South Africa.
He continued studying under many well regarded instructors, including Josh Nieuhaus, Matthew Holland, Giorgio Veneri (the late), Tissier, Chiba, Yamada, Fujita, Kanetsuka, Tamura and Tada Sensei. He has also trained at the Aikikai Head Quarters in Tokyo, Japan and took part in the Aikido World Games in Dusseldorf, Germany 2005.

Goliath Sensei obtained his Shodan in 2000 and his Nidan in 2002 in South Africa under the late Giorgio Veneri sensei. He received his Sandan (3rd Dan) and Yondan (4th Dan) from his teacher Shihan Yoji Fujimoto (8th Dan), after taking the Yudansha examinations in Laces, Northern Italy. Since 1999 he only studied with and followed Fujimoto Shihan, and has attended various local and international seminars with him after they met in South Africa with Giorgio Veneri Sensei.
